Your choice of construction material is primarily determined by the :

  • operating environment
  • service life
  • budget

Our products come in various materials. Your local BAC representative can assist you in choosing the best material option for your specific project.

The basic standard material is hot-dip galvanized steel. Featuring an excellent service life, effective maintainability and proper water treatment.

Baltiplus 800TM protection

Baltiplus 800TM is a highly corrosion resistant, hot dipped coated sheet steel, that has a plating layer of zinc, aluminium and magnesium. Baltiplus 800TM possess unique film forming characteristics that compliment most chemical water treatment regimes. The magnesium and zinc in the coating layer combine to form a fine, tightly adhered protective oxide film over the entire surface area of the sheet and cut ends. This dual layer surface structure suppresses corrosion of the Baltiplus 800TM coating, thus effectively enhancing overall corrosion resistance.

Baltiplus 810TM protection

We further protect hot-dip coated sheet steel with an external flexible polyurethane paint. Baltiplus 810TM has direct to metal anti-corrosive protective properties. Fastening hardware is triple corrosion protected. All exposed cut edges are covered with a zinc-rich coating after fabrication. Use Baltiplus 810TM corrosion protection and

  • extend the service life of the equipment
  • avoid internal paint peeling

Baltibond hybrid coating

A specialized hybrid polymer is electrostatically sprayed onto each individual galvanized steel component for complete and uniform surface coverage. All these components then undergo a heat-activated thermosetting cure process which fuse-bonds the polymer powder to the galvanized steel surfaces. Use the patented Baltibond hybrid coating and

  • save money
  • extend the service life of the equipment
  • save water by applying higher cycles of concentration
  • facilitate cleaning with the smooth surface finish
  • respect the environment

Fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) composite laminate is engineered to ensure durability and will not rust or corrode. The casing external surfaces have a moulded gelcoat finish for maximum UV resistance. Panels consist of engineered combinations of chopped strand and woven roving layers, providing excellent structural integrity and complex shapes to be constructed.

Pultruded Composite Construction

The use of high strength and corrosion resistant Pultruded Composite components for the primary structure combined with BAC’s patented Bonded Panel to Post Connection offers many advantages over conventional hand laid or chopped strand fibreglass construction methods. Pultruded composites possess a superior strength to weight ratio of up to five times that of chopped strand fibreglass and excellent UV protection.

Stainless Steel

Corrosion diagramUse stainless steel for corrosion critical applications. We offer AISi 304 or 316 and recommend 316 for applications with chloride concentrations exceeding 500 ppm in the circulating water.

This corrosion diagram offers guidance as to which levels should be taken into account.

Component construction

For non-unit structure elements, corrosion resistant material is used, e.g. fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), aluminum or copper.

Water quality guidelines or concentration cycles differ for each material option. Check our water quality guidelines for more information.
